History of Andover VIP's
Andover VIP's was formed in 1992, by a group of visually impaired people and assisted by sighted volunteers. The main purpose of the club was to provide activities to include educational, recreational, craft and sports. In the year 2000, the club acquired charity status. The club became a charity in order to obtain funding efficiently for the needs of the members.
The services we provide now help up to 150 visually impaired people of Andover and the surrounding villages. We now have a membership of almost 60 people and this is growing annually. As demands for services are growing, the charity has been obliged to employ a co-ordinator to organise all the activities.
Who manages the Andover VIPs?
The charity is managed by a group of 8 trustees, along with the co-ordinator. They meet regularly to discuss the provision of future events.
