Events
Andover VIP's has had several important visitors in the past including Mary Fagin (Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire), Mark Radcliffe (Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire), Sir George Young MP, past and present Mayors and Mayoresses of Test Valley!
Our events are numerous and varied. They include regular Christmas and summer parties, bangers and mash lunches, afternoon teas, and even a cheese and wine party.
Our outings have included
- Visits to museums
- Trips to the seaside
- Visiting gardens
- Ride on a steam train
- Boat rides
We have enjoyed pantomimes, musicals, operas, proms concerts and choirs.
After 4 months of Mike Towgoods expert tuition in line dancing with our members (the only tutor in Uk who teaches blind people line dancing) , we took to the floor at our summer party on 6 August and demonstrated some excellent routines, even the Mayor Councillor Brian Page joined in!.
We thank the family of the late Gladys Franklin for funding the summer party. Gladys was a well loved member of Andover VIPs who sadly passed away this year.
Our grateful thanks to county Councillor David Kirk for financing the next session for our line dancing classes which re-starts in September.
